It's been a whirlwind 10 days or so for Alejandro Balde, who now seems to be on the verge of leaving his boyhood club FC Barcelona.

Losing his place in the starting line up to the Portuguese veteran last season, a third time lucky free transfer from Al-Hilal for João Cancelo, coupled with the promotion of Jordi Pesquer to the first team group, were the first indicators that Balde's continuation is under threat.

On Saturday, head coach Hansi Flick made comments suggesting that his commitment might be an issue. Outlets such as Jijantes were quick to report that Balde has decided to leave the club, while Mundo Deportivo explained he would only do so if the club doesn't count on him.
